| A. |
There is nothing in life for free. |
| B. |
Getting a job is easy. |
| C. |
Most things work the first time you try them. |
AND THE CORRECT ANSWER IS ...... A
Life is hard. That’s the bottom line. If you really want to be successful then you are going to have to go through the struggles to find the victories. If success was easy then everyone would be achieving it.
When you go look for a job, you may be told no a few times before you get a yes. But the only way you will not get a yes is if you give up. I’ve never met anyone who got a yes by giving up. Remember with enough determination and action, you can have what you want and any job you want.
Let me tell you a personal story about how I got a job after the employer had told me I was not fit for the job. The company put in all kinds of street signs across the United States. At the time, I was around 19 years old and was pretty scrawny. The boss man told me I was too small and that I wouldn’t make a good employee. About that time the phone rang and the boss had to go answer the phone.
He left me standing alone in his shop. What most people would see as a failure, I saw as an opportunity. I picked up the closet broom and started sweeping the shop. When the boss got off the phone he saw me sweeping and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was working. After he saw my dedication, he hired me. I managed to work my way up pretty high in that company and my new boss; well his name was Larry Butler. When I named my company in 1987, I put his last name in my company’s name to honor him. Larry became a very important mentor to me in my life. Imagine what would have happened if I would have just walked out of his shop with my head down in failure.
Thought To Ponder: What job do you want in the future? How could you add more value to the company before you even started working there?
