Module 6 - Question 1

| A. |
Find a higher paying job. |
| B. |
Read and gain knowledge to become more valuable. |
| C. |
Quit his job and start his own construction company. |
AND THE CORRECT ANSWER IS ...... B
You will be compensated financially for the exact amount of value that you bring to the market place. So the question you should ask is: how do I get more value. The answer is to read more books, gain more knowledge and skills and associate with people who can give you knowledge and teach you skills.
If you are in a spot where you want to make more money, the answer isn’t always change jobs. It may be that you need to become more valuable and once you become more valuable then you will do a better job and receive a raise for your new efforts.
Real Life Example: Let’s say you work at a company who makes widgets and you work in the manufacturing plant helping to build the widgets and you make $8.00 an hour and your goal is to make $10.00 an hour. With this goal in mind, you decide to read The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. From reading the book you learn about how systems work in a business. With this new knowledge you start to look at a way to improve systems and processes around you.
A couple of weeks later, you walk into your boss’ office and give him your new idea. The boss implements your new system and with your new system, the company saves $2,000 a month while allowing the company to make an extra $10,000 a month. Now when you go to ask for your raise, do you think you’ll have a pretty good shot at getting more money? I think you’ll get more money and maybe a fast track into management if you keep the hard work up.
